SeaTable Server is SeaTable for your own server. By installing SeaTable in your own infrastructure, you have full control over where your data is stored and who can access it. SeaTable is therefore also recommended for use cases in which you do not want to send your data off-site. You can also operate SeaTable Server exclusively in your local network with no access via the internet.

The SeaTable Enterprise Edition (SeaTable EE) is the perfect no-code solution for teams and organisations of all sizes who are looking for a powerful no-code database and do not want to compromise on full data sovereignty . With advanced sharing permissions, automations, an integrated App Builder and a big-data backend, users can also implement demanding use cases. Enterprise features such as external authentication (AD/LDAP, SAML), role-based permission management, malware scanning and an audit log will please administrators.

A SeaTable EE licence for up to three users is available free of charge. For more users a paid licence is required. Thanks to Docker Compose , installation is completed within a few minutes.

The SeaTable Developer Edition (SeaTable DE) is aimed at developers who want to use SeaTable as a flexible database and for whom frontend features are of secondary importance. In these use cases, SeaTable DE stands out with support for numerous data types, a powerful REST API and apps for well-known automation platforms such as Zapier, Make and n8n.

SeaTable DE does not require a paid licence. You can find the installation instructions here .

Both the SeaTable Enterprise Edition and the SeaTable Developer Edition can be conveniently downloaded from Docker Hub:

The editions differ mainly in their versioning:

The SeaTable Developer Edition provides only a base version, for example 5.3.0, which is based on the initial Enterprise version. The Enterprise Edition is continuously developed further. There you will always find the latest version, such as 5.3.12.

Issues identified in the Developer Edition are only addressed with the next major version (e.g., from 5.3.0 to 5.4.0).

The SeaTable Enterprise Edition undergoes thorough testing to ensure it is as stable and error-free as possible. In contrast, no systematic testing is carried out for the SeaTable Developer Edition.

Paid support is only available for the Enterprise Edition; no official support is provided for the Developer Edition.

If you have questions about the SeaTable Developer Edition, we recommend the SeaTable Community Forum . However, please note that most discussions there relate to the Enterprise Edition, as it is more widely used and officially supported.
